HIM Thesis Support

The UWC offers support for all UCF students, including HIM thesis writers. We can help you at any stage in the writing process, from outlining and generating ideas to reviewing your finalized draft. Consultants can provide feedback on writing or formatting issues.

Semester of Directed Reading
During the semester dedicated to directed readings for your thesis, the UWC can assist with:
• Preparation of Prospectus
• Maintaining a Reference Page
• "Chunking" thesis chapters with current research

Semester of Defense
The UWC can support thesis writers during the semester of defence with:
• Outlining Chapters
• Chapter Reviews
• General Revision
• Notice of Defense
• Preparing for the Format Review (required)

Formatting
For the format review, you might meet with a UWC consultant to review elements of your thesis such as headings, table of contents, page numbers, references, and margins.

In order for this consultation to be effective, the following pages of the thesis should be completed: Title page, Abstract, Table of Contents, Litst of Tables, Figures or Symbols (if used), first pages of each chapter, Reference page. Please bring a printed copy of these pages to your consultation.
