The UWC strives to help as many students as possible. You don't have to have an appointment to be seen, but we do get busy! Sometimes appointments are booked and walk-ins have to wait. We encourage you to make an appointment whenever possible for your convenience. | |

Does the UWC make appointments over the phone? | |

The UWC encourages you to use our convenient online scheduler. If you are unable to access the scheduler, we can register you and schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment over the phone at 407-823-2197. | |

Does the UWC grade papers? | |
A: |
The UWC is a peer-response environment that allows writers to learn how to improve their writing by working with a consultant. If you need information about the Business Department's Grading Center, you can call them at 407-823-2184. | |

Does the UWC help graduate students? | |

Yes! Graduate students can now make appointments with a graduate consultant. If graduate students come in as walk-ins, however, we cannot guarantee that they will be seen by a graduate consultant. | |

Can I write my paper in the UWC? | |

We encourage you to come in and use our resources to write your paper. We have an extensive library of reference materials about writing in all genres available for use in the UWC. We also have several computers set up for student use. | |

You do not need to have anything written to come to the UWC. We can help you generate ideas and plan your paper. You can come to the UWC at any point in your writing process. | |

Do I have to be in an English class to take advantage of the UWC? | |

The UWC can help you with written assignments for any class. We can also help with other assignments that involve writing and planning such as speeches and presentations. | |

Does the UWC help clients with personal writing? | |

Absolutely! As long as you are enrolled as a student at UCF, we can help you with your writing projects. The UWC has helped many clients working on graduate school applications and resumes. | |

Can I leave my paper at the UWC for someone to look over? | |

We prefer to work with you to help you effectively revise and proofread your work. Without your input and ideas, the process would not benefit you. | |

Can I leave and have the UWC call me when it's my turn to be seen? OR Can the UWC call me if an appointment becomes available? | |

The UWC offers first come, first served consultations to students who don't have an appointment. Usually, walk-ins do not wait more than 20 minutes and you can work on your paper while you wait. We cannot make calls to students, however. | |

Do you offer CLAST Assistance? | |
A: |
You can come into the UWC during regular hours and use our CLAST preparation software programs. You do not need an appointment to use the software programs. If you need further assistance with the software, a consultant can help you. We also have CLAST workbooks in the UWC for you to use for practice. |

Are my username and password the same as Pegasus? | |
A: |
Your username and password at the UWC are not the same as the ones used for Pegasus. Your username will be your NID. To sign in as a walk-in, you will need your PID.
If you registered yourself and have forgotten your username and/or password, the UWC staff can look up your information. The UWC has also added a feature to the scheduler that allows you to enter a hint phrase. Be sure to complete this section in registration. |

Can I print something from the Internet? | |

You can print from the Internet if you need the information for your consultation. We typically use recycled paper. | |

We can make photocopies for you if you need them for your consultation. | |

Can I use the phone? | |

We need to keep the phone lines free for clients who need our help. There are payphones available in the Communications building. | |
