"So this guy walks into the bar, and he says ' Okay, I got it. What about a cop on roller skates?' And I say, 'Okay, that's good … but you know what? Good is the enemy of Great.'"

(--That Darn Punk)

My experiences with writing have run both sides of the gambit. A long time ago (in high school) I nearly failed my junior year of english. It was an ugly situation, to say the least. When I arrived here at UCF, I was so scared of failing composition, that I worked like crazy to improve my writing (having an amazingly good comp 1 and 2 teacher didn't hurt either)…

So here I am, a Creative Writing Major looking to go to grad school next year. I think it was Earnest Hemingway who said, "All first drafts of everything are shit." Once you accept this statement, you are on the path to success in writing. Good writing comes from hard work, and if you're willing to put in the effort, then the UWC can help you. How does the saying go? Oh yeah, "Because (great) writers need (great) readers."
