Writing is the best form of self-expression that I have discovered. Writing can be done anytime and anywhere. The best times are the usually the strangest and most unexpected times; i.e. inspiration most often hits me while I am driving or (wish I were) sleeping!

I have been writing from inspiration since 1993. This is the type of writing I love. The pen becomes automatic, effortless on my part. I once had an article published by Orlando Magazine. The day before they called me to ask permission to publish, I had a sudden strange and wonderful knowing that my piece had been accepted. I celebrated right then! Sure enough, the next day the call came. I hope to have many more experiences like that one after completion of the Creative Writing minor. It's been a joy to discover that studying writing does not mean destroying creativity. It means celebrating it and finding a home for it.
