There will come a time when you think everything is finished. That will be the beginning.

No matter how good something is, it can always be made better. I enjoy taking nothing, making it into something, and then making it into something better. Even menial which are not necessarily fun in themselves usually lead to a great feeling of accomplishment in the end. Making your work turn out so wonderfully that even you admire it when you deem it "finished" still usually leads to someone else finding room for improvement. Besides, what would there be to do if each time something was completed, you were actually done with it? The story of the frog-prince illustrates my point. A prince wearing a crown looks much better that a frog wearing a crown (unless, of course, you are a frog). The only way to get from one to the other is to do something you may not want to do.
