Hometown

Hi, I was born in Havana, Cuba in 1988. I had been living in West New York, NJ lived up until a year ago. We moved to Palm Coast, Fl in the summer of 2007. The tropical weather here in Florida has definitely allowed me to adapt very well to life in the south.

Educational Background

I spent my first year as an undergraduate student at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. I was granted the Associate of Arts degree in Psychology at Daytona Beach College in Florida. I am now pursuing Psychology at the University of Central Florida.

Writing Experience

AP Language, College English- Prep course, English 1201 Composition,  English 1202  Literature, World Religion, Contemporary Moral Values, Social Psychology, Oral Communication.

I wrote a policy analysis paper on Affirmative Action while I was interning at the Center for Hispanic Policy Research and Development (Trenton, NJ).  It won scholarly recognition toward the end of the internship and made people aware of concerns over our present education system. Most importantly, it taught me how influential our written words are in conveying a powerful message and, even more so, in initializing a change.

Hobbies

Reading, going to the beach, driving to the ice cream parlor, dancing, youtubing, spending time with family and friends, Laptop-ing (the act of using my laptop to do meaningless busy work), learning about new things, and travelling! (or dreaming of going….)

A Few Tips on Writing

It took me a while to realize that writing is what you make of it. It can be a form of self-expression for the creative mind, therapy for the troubled one, or a hassle for others.  The main point is that writing is a working process and the only way to polish it is by focusing on areas in your writing that have been unexplored. Be bold! Remember, there is no right or wrong answer. It is how you articulate your point of view that turns a good paper into a GREAT paper. Have fun!
