Current Studies

I just received a B.A. in English and a B.A. in History
from UCF. I'm currently pursuing a M.A. in Literature.

Writing Intensive Courses

Every class I've ever taken at UCF ... but seriously, the best writing intensive classes I've ever taken were Native American Literature, Postmodern Literature, History of the Western Frontier and US Space History. Basically any class offered by the English and History Departments are writing intensive courses and are well worth taking

Special Interests

These are a few of my favorite things: the American West, Grigori Rasputin, author Christopher Moore, reading anything with words, conquering writing intensive courses, the color purple (the actual color, not the book by Alice Walker), Turner Classic Movies, YA fiction, music of all kinds, writing screenplays, working on that novel, Native American literature and anything shiny that catches my eye.

Jessica on Writing

The best way I know how to write is to just sit down and do it. The more you write, the better you'll get. It's as simple as that. Practice. Who knew? Listen to your professors and take their criticism seriously. They really do know what they're talking about. Don't be afraid to ask questions and remember to visit the Writing Center. It's important to not get discouraged and to understand that writing is a process. Even the best writers never started out as the best.
