Writing Intensive Courses
The writing intensive courses I took as an undergraduate include but are not limited to: Narration and Description, American Literature, British Literature, Fiction I, II, and III, Literature and the Occult, Form and Technique of Poetry, Screenwriting, Selected British Authors, Anthropological Linguistics, Historical Archaeology, Modern Drama, Forensic Anthropology, Anthropology in American Culture, Theories of Culture, Rethinking Anthropology, and African American Literature. I also studied abroad at Cambridge University where I studied British Literature and Modern Fiction.
Special Interests
Besides reading, fiction writing, walking, and watching Lifetime movies, I love to travel. I enjoy Scrabble, and researching my family history. I love dancing, and after I studied in Ghana, I developed an interest in playing the drum even though I'm horrible at the moment. In my spare time, I research topics in biological anthropology, archaeology, and mythology.
Brittany on Writing
One of the most fulfilling things as a writer is assisting others with their writing. Every culture uses words to convey ideas, beliefs, laws, and social customs. All people I believe can be creative writers. However, our creativity is hidden from others if we cannot effectively convey our words on paper in a cogent manner. It would be sad if we were the only ones who recognized our creative genius. Fortunately, with resources like the UWC we don't have to be.
