NEW ORGANIZATION GROWS STRONG
CAR CLUB SPARKS INTEREST OF STUDENTS

	The University of Central Florida Knight Riders, a new
club  based  at  UCF, promises  to  break  new  ground with an 
ambitious schedule of upcoming events. The  club  was  founded
in November 1995 and is growing rapidly.
        The club went from a pipe dream of two students  to  a 
large  organization  in  just  a  few  months.  The UCF Knight 
Riders is a special interest club dedicated to car enthusiasts 
of  all  makes  and  models.  It is open to fans of foreign or 
domestic cars and trucks.  
	The organization was set up to carry  out  many tasks:
to provide technical help for those   interested  in repairing 
or upgrading their automobiles,  to  organize  car  shows  and
activities,  and  to  provide  information or advice regarding
new or used car purchases.
	For better communication between our organization  and
the  student  population,  the  UCF  Knight Rider Column  will 
appear in future issues of the Central Florida Future.
 	This column is being written to inform students of new 
activities our club will organize, information on new cars,  a
technical  repair advice section, and information on restoring 
classic automobiles. If you have any  repair related questions 
about   your   automobile   please  e-mail  your  question  to 
ucfkr@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu.
	The club is also  planning  a large car show on campus 
for next year.  It will feature both new cars and classic cars
on display.   Several  of  the  activities  at  the  show will
include  car  related  movies like Christine shown at the Wild
Pizza along with other contests.   With over 25 members of the 
club  working  hard  on  the  upcoming car show, it will be  a 
memorable event.  
	As the club expands,  it  plans  to  pay homage to its
name  derived  from  the  1980's  action TV show Knight Rider.  
Several of the leaders of the  UCF  Knight  Riders are setting 
up  the  first national fan club dedicated to the Knight Rider
TV show.

organization.
	The UCF Knight Riders  will  participate  in  the Fall 
Activities Fair on September 11, 1996 from 11am to 2pm on  the 
UCF Green.   Anyone interest in the organization should attend
the new member meeting on September 18, 1996.  The meeting  is 
scheduled  for  5pm  at  SC 214.  Official  UCF  Knight  Rider 
t-shirts and baseball hats are available at our internet  home 
page to raise funds for upcoming events.  If you would like to
