The Beginning:

The University of Central Florida Gospel & Cultural Choir began its journey in the fall of 1979. The choir was designed to bring together students from different backgrounds that had one thing in common, the desire to spread God's word through song. The choir's purpose at the university is to continually enhance cultural heritage as well as become an effective liaison between the community and the university.

Look How Far We Have Come:

Throughout the years, the Gospel Choir has grown tremendously. Membership has grown from 17 members to over 50. Not only that, the choir's presence has been visibly strong on campus as well as in the Central Florida area. In 1997, a man by the name of Alec Richardson took over as director of this dynamic group of young people. The choir was now on its way to a new level with Christ. Thanks be to God and to the distinguished director, Alec, the choir has been privileged to perform throughout the entire state of Florida and beyond. Such events that the choir has ministered were: Kraft Foods at Disney World, Universal Studios, South Florida region, Prazefest 2000 in Houston, TX, as well as on campus and at local churches, schools, and organizations. The highlight of Spring 2001 was the opportunity to minister on stage through a gospel play. Our latest adventure was our live recording of our first album. We expect it to be a huge success and a blessing to all. We can truly say that we are blessed!
