Overview
Our product is distinct from any other treatment currently available
for patients with neurodegenerative diseases for several different
reasons. The primary distinction being that we find cures instead of
treatments for symptoms. This is accomplished through the use of a
person's own stem cells instead of embryonic stem cells.
Innovative technology
Fundamentally, adult stem cells are being modified with our
technology. Bone marrow cells are altered so that it can take on the
characteristics of another cell which is dying. Our technology allows
us to expand the developmental potential of cells thus improving the
effectiveness of stem cell replacement therapy.
Quality
Quality control is the largest hurdle for any cell replacement firm.
It is difficult to convince the FDA that a treatment creates the same
quality output or identical end-product in each and every scenario
being that cell populations, by nature, are somewhat heterogeneous.
What tends to occur for drugs, such as Vioxx a Cox-2 inhibitor, is
that during toxicology profiling, required by the FDA, other systems
are being effected, better known as side effects of the drug. The
benefit of our product is that toxicology profiling is much easier
since we do not have to worry about other systems being affected the
way that a drug influences other tissue.
Cost
The cost of using our treatment may be much less than that of other
stem cell research companies. For instance, patient specific embryonic
stem cell treatment may cost a patient more than expected depending on
the amount of eggs needed and also considering the time it takes to
find these eggs from donors. Our treatment does not require a donor
thus reducing costs in regards to that aspect.
Patents
Our patented technology involves the treatment of cells to expand
their developmental potential by dedifferentiation, a distinct process
that can not be replicated.
