UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA
MUSIC HISTORY & LITERATURE I
MUH 3211 (Fall 2010)

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:

NB. Chapter numbers for textbook reading are cued to Wright-Simms, Media Edition. Anthology numbers are as indicated in that volume.

The following is a listing of all class meetings and their tentative topics for discussion. Although “slippage” may occur as the semester progresses, you should plan to be reading the indicated passages and listening to the relevant Anthology items before they are scheduled for class discussion. In-Class Exams, Quizzes and other Due Dates for various graded assignments are noted in BOLDFACE. These dates will probably not change, so mark them now on your personal calendars.

Finally, you should note that even though due dates and tests might seem spread out, you should not consider the days (or even weeks) after a test or due date as a “vacation.” Those “dead spaces” have been planned specifically to allow you time to prepare without additional stress for the next due date. Don’t waste that time. Please note, also, that “due dates” are actually the last day on which you may submit an item (without penalty). You are always free to submit assignments early.
