Stephen A. Sivo is a Professor at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL. He received a B.A. (1987) in Psychology (minor: Philosophy) from Franciscan University and a Ph.D. (1997) in Research, Measurement, and Statistics (Educational Psychology) from Texas A&M University.

Professional Summary

Dr. Sivo is a tenured Professor at the University of Central Florida. He has taught statistics, research methods, and measurement theory for graduate programs for 19 years (15 years at UCF). He has chaired or served on more than 150 doctoral dissertations since he began at UCF. His coursework includes doctoral level Latent Variable Modeling, Multilevel Modeling, Structural Equation Modeling, Advanced Psychometrics, Survey Research, and Multivariate Statistics and Masters level Research Methods and Assessment & Measurement.

Dr. Sivo specializes in Statistical Analysis, Survey Research, Test Development and Program Evaluation with a particular emphasis on Structural Equation Modeling. From 2009-2010, he chaired the Structural Equation Modeling SIG of AERA, a key international statistical conference group dedicated to the methodological field of Structural Equation Modeling.

Dr. Sivo has published two books and an extensive number of peer-reviewed articles and book chapters focusing on statistical procedures and research methodology in various disciplines, including psychology, education, business (e.g., entrepreneurial research and information systems), healthcare (e.g. breast cancer), and communications. His work is widely cited around the world.
