Areas of Specialization

Students will select a specialization, gain expertise, and become certified in a selected area. Students will examine the specialization options and meet with their advisor during PET 3137 Concepts and Practices in Sports and Fitness to enroll in one of the five areas. Since completing the requirements for professional certification is a necessary first stage in obtaining employment in each area of specialization core courses have been designed with emphasis on providing the students with the necessary background and training for their professional certification exams. This is a unique requirement to this program with the certification ensuring greater marketability.
