Got something to say?
WE WANT TO HEAR IT!

Announcing the Bernard C. Kissel* Annual Outstanding Student Speaker Competition:

Friday, October 28, 2005

Theme:
Ethical Issues in the
New America

(This theme supports UCF's current Common Theme initiative, "The New America: Mirroring the Present and Mapping the Future.")

Speakers should deliver an extemporaneous persuasive speech addressing one of the following sub-topics related to "Ethical Issues in the New America":

  • Government
  • Business
  • Education
  • Medicine
  • Technology
  • Media
  • Personal relationships
  • The environment

Speakers should take a stand regarding an ethical issue pertaining to one of the particular sub-topics listed above and seek to persuade the audience to their point of view. Novelty and originality will be key; well-worn, often-used speech topics (e.g., "Everyone should reduce, reuse, recycle") will considerably lessen the chances for success in the contest.

If you're a UCF undergraduate chances are you're eligible to compete--all you need is some gumption and a six to eight minute persuasive speech and you're on your way!  (See the contest rules for complete details.)
