My research focuses on women offenders and inmates. I wrote a grant that took me into a state correctional facility to establish a therapeutic community for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse who are incarcerated. This opportunity allowed me to learn about the family dynamics of women in prison, what happens to their children on the outside, and the organization of the administration of prisons.
My interest in families begins with my own family, my children, husband and dogs.
