Welcome
In 1972 the first UCF rowing team was established under the guidance of Coach Dennis Kamrad. Rowing is one of the earliest athletic activities on campus, and was the first UCF program to win a state championship in 1973 and a regional championship in 1972. Since then, both the men's and women's teams have sent UCF rowers to national, international, and Olympic events.
This tradition still lives on today with a growing men's and newly established women's team. The teams will be competing throughout the country from Florida to Tennessee to Philadelphia. This year we aim to live up to this tradition set by previous example.

Benefits of Rowing
This sport not only works out all of your core muscles (arms, back, legs, and abs), but also is one of the biggest team oriented sports that there is. Rowing consists of both the rowers and the coxswains working in unison to pull the boat to the finish.
Crew is more than working out and winning races, but also developing lasting relationships. The rowers, the coxswains, and the coaches become a family and learn to work together to accomplish their common goals.

Everything Matters
Rowing is a very expensive sport, and finances are always a pressing matter. Because Central Florida Rowing is a club sport, we receive only a portion of our funding from the university.
The team is constantly looking for donations to supplement the money we can raise. To make it easier for you to donate, we have recently become a 501(c)3 organization, and are tax deductible. If you are interested, you can contribute in multiple ways, find out more.
