JAKE (Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment) "is a reference source which makes finding, managing, and linking online journals and journal articles easier for students, researchers, and librarians. jake does this by managing metadata about online resources with a database union list, title authority control, and linking tools, as well as making it easy to customize for a specific library's holdings." The original site was created by the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library at Yale University. It helped answer the questions:
JournalSeek is a "completely categorized database of freely available journal information available on the internet. The database presently contains 92013 titles. Journal information includes the description (aims and scope), journal abbreviation, journal homepage link, subject category and ISSN. Searching this information allows the rapid identification of potential journals to publish your research in, as well as allow you to find new journals of interest to your field."
FloridaCat is a WorldCat subset for libraries in Florida.
SHELLS discontinued (Serials Holdings - Electronic Library Lists) was a collaborative project of three of Florida's six multi-type library cooperatives. Participants included the libraries of SEFLIN (Southeast Florida Library Information Network), PLAN (Panhandle Library Access Network) and CFLC (Central Florida Library Cooperative). These groups represent the libraries of 32 Florida counties. SHELLS particular focus was on serials titles (and specific holdings) which were owned by libraries in the region. Serials were represented by non-books, e.g. newspapers, journals, magazines, select government documents and much more. This tool did not give "full text" of articles, but rather was meant as a finding aid.
Citation Management Options - The University of Central Florida provides university-wide licenses of four citation management programs.
