- Academic Search Premier
(EBSCOhost database) is a scholarly, multi-disciplinary full text database
containing full text for nearly 4,600 scholarly publications, including more
than 3,500 peer-reviewed publications. In addition to the full text, this
database offers indexing and abstracts for all 8,043 journals in the
collection. Dates of coverage: 1975+
- Alternative Press Index
(FirstSearch database) is a quarterly subject index to over 250 alternative,
radical and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines. The paper version at
INDEX AI3.A27 covers 1969 to current.
- America: History & Life
(ABC-CLIO) indexes over 2,000 international journals, books, and dissertations
on the history and culture of the United States and Canada from prehistoric
times to the present. The electronic counterpart to the printed America:
History and Life. Dates of coverage: 1964+
- American Memory
(Library of Congress) provides major components of the Library's National
Digital Library Program, including multimedia collections of digitized
documents, photographs, recorded sound, moving pictures, and text from the
Library's Americana collections.
- Citation Management Options
help researchers: * Collect citations from online sources; * Organize
references by subject, project, author, or other schemes; * Create
bibliographies formatted according to MLA, APA, or other widely used citation
styles.
- Communication Studies
(Sage via CSA database) provides full-text of 16 journals, covering
Journalism, Public Opinion, Political Communication, Mass Communication,
Interpersonal Communication, Cultural Studies / Intercultural Communication,
Television / Film Studies, Media Studies, Business Communication,
Organizational / Management Communication, Written Communication, Rhetoric,
and Literacy Studies.
- Communication & Mass Media
Complete (EBSCOhost database) indexes articles from communications
publications. CMMC is the merged databases CommSearch and Mass Media Articles
Index.

CQ Researcher
provides in-depth analysis reporting on the most current and controversial
issues of the day. The UCF Library also has bound volumes from 1991+ [General
Collection H35.E352] and 1955-1991 of the preceding title, Editorial Research
Reports [H35.E35; MFLM 1955-1968; Bound 1969-April 1991]

Ethnic Newswatch
(Softline database) - a full-text collection of the newspapers, magazines and
journals of the ethnic, minority and native press.

Florida Heritage Collection
is an ongoing cooperative project of the State University Libraries
of Florida to digitize and provide online access to materials broadly
representing Florida’s history, culture, arts, literature, sciences and social
sciences.
- GaleNet: Gale Virtual
Reference Library provides full text access to some encyclopedias and
almanacs, including Dictionary of American History, Countries &
Their Cultures, History Behind
the Headlines, and Major Acts of Congress.
- History Resource Center:
U.S. (GaleNet database) contains approximately 100,000 pages of 1,000
primary documents with corresponding facsimile pages. Other content
includes more than 25,000 reference documents from various Gale Group sources,
magazine & newspaper coverage for more than 90 history-related full-text
titles, and over 2,000 photographs & illustrations, including 30 historical
maps courtesy of Yale University.
- In the First Person
(Alexander Street Press database) provides in-depth indexing of more than
2,500 collections of oral history in English from around the world. With
future releases, the index will broaden to identify other first-person
content, including letters, diaries, memoirs, and autobiographies, and other
personal narratives.
- LexisNexis databases
(CIS/Lexis-Nexis): Congressional gives researchers access to
vast and varied information published by and about Congress, including full
text of almost all Committee Reports from 1990 forward and Congressional
testimony from 1988 forward, indexing & abstracting from the CIS/Index to
Publications of the U.S. Congress from 1970 forward, and indexing of other
Congressional publications from 1789 forward. Statistical
provides the full text of Statistical Abstract of the U. S., plus
indexing and abstracts (with some full text available) from American
Statistics Index (ASI), Statistical Reference Index (SRI), and
Index to International Statistics (IIS). Academic
provides more than 9.5 million documents from over 18,300 sources, including
access to company profiles and
financial reports, government transcripts, trade journals and academic and
legal databases. Their files are updated with full-text documents from general
interest wire services, newspapers, and magazines from around the world.
- netLibrary provides
over 46,000 full text ebooks for previewing or 4-hour checkout.
- Orlando Sentinel
newspaper is available full text for 1985+ as a searchable database through
the UCF Library. Microfilm of the newspaper is available in the UCF
Library for 1960+. Selective indexing (1966-1970) of the Orlando
Sentinel/Evening Star is provided in a bound volume on the Index shelves in
the UCF Library, call number - Index AI 21.O7.
The Orlando Public Library has the Orlando Sentinel/Star available on
microfilm (1912- ), selective indexing of articles of local interest
(1966-1993), and an obituary index (1949- ). The Orlando Sentinel research
staff (407-420-5317) can provide a search of most articles published in the
Orlando Sentinel since the early 1900s for a prepaid fee.
- WilsonWeb contains
indexed and abstracted articles from periodicals, including full text from
many titles. The interface provides access to the following H.W. Wilson databases:
Applied Science & Technology, Art, Biography, Biological & Agricultural,
Education, Book Review Digest, Essay & General Literature, General Science,
Humanities, Index to Legal Periodicals & Books, Library Literature &
Information Science, Readers' Guide, Social Sciences, and Wilson Business.
Dates of coverage: indexing, 1982+ ; abstracts 1984+ ; full text, 1994+
- WorldCat (FirstSearch
database) is the world's most comprehensive bibliography, with 36 million
bibliographic records representing 370 languages and covering information from
4,000 years of knowledge.
