How to Access UCF Library Databases and Resources from off campus
Newspaper Sources:
LexisNexisAcademic provides abstracts or selected full text articles from many U.S. & international newspapers.
Step 1: Select a news category - World News
Step 2: Select a news source - choose a region of the world. Select the link for Source List next to the region selected; it will bring up a list of sources to be searched. Select appropriate titles from the list. To assist you in identifying newspapers from a specific country, open another browser window to consult:
LEXIS-NEXIS Source Locator retrieves information about the 36,000 sources in the full version of their product. UCF users have abridged access (LexisNexis Academic), which provides full text or abstracts from approximately 5,600 of the 36,000 sources. Select Publication Types: Newspaper and Regions of Coverage: [specific country]. NOTE: Only 15% of the titles available in the full LexisNexis database are available in LexisNexis Academic.
Conduct your search.
Another option in Step 1 is to select the news category "Non-English Language News", which provides Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, & Spanish sources. NOTE: The search terms used must also be in the non-English language. No translation feature currently exists in LexisNexis Academic.
