Team Fundraising Ideas
- Silent Auction: Collect donated items from your employer and businesses in the community and hold a silent auction. Get creative. Someone can donate hosting a gourmet dinner for four or housecleaning for a month.
- Garage Sale: Designate one weekend in your community as Relay For Life garage sale weekend. Encourage all teams to participate and donate their earnings.
- Monday Morning Pick Me Up: Offer a specialty coffee along with all the extras (real Cream!) and ask for donations from co-workers.
- Valet Parking: Have valet parking at church on Sunday morning and charge $5 to park cars.
- Jean Passes: Teachers usually can’t wear jeans to school. Check with the principal to charge teachers $5 to wear jeans on Friday.
- Bridge Tournament: Charge your regular bridge club to enter your tournament. Get prizes donated and have team members make the lunch and snacks.
- Baby Picture Contest: Collect all the baby pictures from your team members, make a board to put up at work and sell chances at guessing who the babies are. Most correct answers win.
- Wine & Cheese Party: Host a wine and cheese tasting party, charge your guests, sell luminaria and hold a chance drawing for a case of donated wine or a basket of wine and cheese.
Student Fundraising Ideas

- Carnations for Mother’s Day – Ask a local florist to donate carnations for students to sell in the schools for Mother’s Day.
- Used Book Sale – students bring in their used books for a huge book fair.
- Penny Drive – On the 100th day of the school year, have a penny drive. Have a competition between classrooms.
- Add a dollar to sporting events – with the schools approval, charge an extra dollar for sporting events or offer attendees the opportunity to donate a dollar to your team with the purchase of their ticket.
- Car Window Wash – Wash the car windows for $1 as the cars come through the bank drive through. One team raised over $100 in one day!
- Babysitting – tell your regular families you baby-sit for that half of your fee will go towards your Relay For Life team. Many families will probably increase their rates!
- School Dance – Have a local DJ donate their time and sound system for a school dance. All the proceeds will go to your Relay For Life team. Refreshments could also be donated and sold for fundraising.
- School Competitions – Have a volleyball or basketball game between rival schools. Proceeds from ticket sales would go to your team.
- School Carnival – Host a Relay For Life carnival with lots of indoor activities to raise money.
