What kinds of questions can be answered?

Quick Reference Service provides answers for brief reference questions relating to:

• The availability and location of books, journals, and other materials in the UCF Library
• Inquiries about UCF Library services
• Statistical data
• Verification of bibliographic citations
• Addresses for corporations, institutions, and publishers
• Biographical information
• Assistance with subject-related research
• Patent and Trademark information
• Assistance with the use of LUIS, the on-line catalog

When can I receive a reply and what can I expect?

Quick Reference Service is available Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm and you will usually receive a reply within one business day. The result of a Quick Reference Service query is:

• A brief factual answer to a specific question
• Or, suggestions of sources for you to consult

How do I contact Quick Reference Service?

You can call (407) 823-2562 during normal business hours.

You may fill out and submit a Quick Reference Service form.

You may also submit questions by e-mail to quickref@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu. The following information should be included in your e-mail request:

• Your name and daytime phone number. If you expect a response by e-mail, add your e-mail address.
• Your status at the University of Central Florida -- faculty, staff, student or not-affiliated.
• Your FLORIDA location (city or county).
• Your question.
• Where you have already looked for the information, if anywhere. (optional)
