National By-Laws
The President's term is five years subject to reelection. The Vice-Presidential terms are staggered five year terms to ensure effective continuity.
The President-elect is elected by the Board two years prior to assuming office and serves as a member of the Executive Board during those years. The immediate past President will remain two years on the Board.
The Executive Director will receive an honorarium as determined by the Executive Board.
The National President shall call meetings of the Board when necessary. At least one should be held annually.
Each chapter should hold at least two meetings each year, including an annual initiation, if appropriate. Election of officers should be held each year.
An annual report should be sent at the end of the spring term to the Executive Director. The report should have name and home address of the new initiates, officers, activities and the name of the new moderator, if applicable.
The current fee for the establishment of a new chapter is $100.00 and includes the official banner of the Society and the charter of the chapter.
National dues are paid once at the time of initiation into the Society and entitle the new member to life-time membership. They are currently $20.00 for regular members effective September 1991. Associate membership dues are $15.00, effective September 1991. Chapter dues may be determined by the local chapters.
The ceremony shall be conducted according to the procedures published under initiation ceremonies. It may be modified, but must reflect the ideals and objectives of the Society.
