Board Meeting - MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER 4, 2002

New Business:

Motion-

1st:Jennifer Vandling- I move that the board meetings be conducted in English.

2nd:Jennifer White

Discussion of translation project for Marie. Clare will make copies for distribution to members in order to prepare, possibly contact Sandra for help.

Board member responsibility-show up to all board meetings. If not going to be in attendance, please notify another member on the board prior to the scheduled meeting time.

Keep communication open and positive at all times

One vote for each position

Promote Pi Delta Phi

Dr. Barberet needs people for the 23rd – 27th of October to help with his "Utopian" project downtown, approximately 3-4 people a day to usher and set up.

Jen V. and Daire will get the cubicle

Daire will follow up on the Françophone fundraiser

Tyler is interested in becoming an associate member and incorporating French cultural program with the residence halls of UCF.

Pi Delta Phi can help by having, possibly, an organized food/movie function at the Libra halls on campus.

Tyler will be in charge of organizing a dessert social.

Clare will email a choice of dates for the board to vote on.

Senegal speaker will be at the September 18th general meeting in SU 218D

Jenn W. will bring French music for background

Daire will try to find a Caribbean artist to make a promotional artwork display, possibly to be located in the art gallery or in the library on campus

Clare will be working on the web page and what will be displayed on it

T-shirts

Possibly develop a uniform shirt for the three French organizations. The cost would be approximately $20 and Pi Delta Phi would make $7 profit.

M. Dues are $5/semester and are due at the next general meeting on the 18th to

Daire.

N. Jenn W. will send emails out to all members reminding of meetings and to pay

Dues.

O. Courtney is going to set up a new account

Announcements:

For anyone interested, there is a homecoming meeting on the 17th of

September

Anyone that knows Creole is needed as a research assistant to one of Tyler’s

Professors.
