PHILANTHROPY

One of the core pillars of Phi Alpha Delta is service to the community. One way we give back to the community is by taking part in efforts to help several different Central Florida organizations and charities. Below you can find information on several of the organizations we are involved with and by clicking on the picture you can visit their respective sites! Matt Klein is the philanthropy chair and is looking forward to all we can accomplish this year! If you would like to give him suggestions or ask him a question, please e-mail him at padphilanthropy@gmail.com

 Juvenile Assessment Center

The Juvenile Assessment Center has given Phi Alpha Delta the great privilege of holding regular life lesson assemblies to benefit juvenile inmates ranging in ages from 7-18.  This volunteering event will require meeting prior to the event to discuss talking points and activities being performed during the assembly. Speaking topics will vary every week, and feel free to make suggestions for any new ideas!

Teen Court

Teen Court is a program that gives first-time offenders between the ages of 10 and 17 a second chance, yet holds them accountable for their actions. A youthful law violator must stand before a jury of their peers, plead guilty and accept whatever sanctions they impose. Teens that are of the ages 10 to 17 act as Prosecuting Attorney, Defense Attorney, Bailiff, Clerk and Jury. If the offender pleads guilty, accepts the sentence, and successfully completes the sanctions, their charge is dismissed. Our job as volunteers is to serve as a "jury advisor" and assist the jury in determining and imposing a just and fitting punishment.

Florida Guardian ad Litem is an amazing opportunity for students to make connections within the Orange County justice system by representing an abused or neglected child.
