The unexploited potential of Twitter
The topic for my final project for DIG 3153 is to present the unexploited potential of Twitter.
Twitter is a micro-blogging site that allows users to post messages—known as “tweets”— of up to 140 characters. This is a new approach to “traditional” blogging that has been adopted by many people, global organizations, and even governments. CNN, the White House, Ashton Kutcher, Larry King and even Martha Stewart are among the many users of Twitter.
Twitter can be accessed from various devices including computers and cell phones. In addition to that, third party applications can connect to Twitter to enhance users’ experience. Some third party applications allow users to post their exact geographic location, links and pictures, so that they are not limited to static text.
