Ombuds Officer - Vicky Brown
Born in Havana, Cuba, she came to the U.S. in 1960 and her first job was at the United Nations where she translated English/Spanish documents for the Social and Economic Affairs Division. She has worked in higher education for thirty-plus years and worked for six university presidents. In 1990 she joined the University of Central Florida (UCF) as Executive Assistant to the President and has been the University Ombuds Officer since 1994, when the Ombuds Office was established. In 1999 she graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCF with a B.A. in Liberal Studies, and received the president’s medallion for achieving the highest gpa in her college. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and been a member of the University & College Ombuds Association (UCOA) and The Ombudsman Association (TOA) since 1995, during which time she served two and a half terms on the UCOA board of directors. In 2005 she was elected to serve on the inaugural board of the International Ombudsman Association (IOA) and has co-chaired the association's annual conference for the last three years.

Ombuds Assistant - Daniel Thompson
Born and raised in Spokane, Washington. Daniel moved cross-country to participate in Disney’s college program in the fall of 1998. Instead of heading home to attend the University of Washington in Seattle, he opted to stay in Orlando and applied to UCF, he was accepted into the School of Journalism.
He graduated in the spring of 2003 with a minor in creative writing and found work with the Institute for Simulation and Training. After a few years he transferred to the University Ombuds Office as an assistant.
In his spare time, Daniel runs the soccer division for the Orlando Sports and Social Club.
