After a pep talk from those in charge, NRG got to work in the dirt, and started the process of moving a house from the lot it was on to one a few blocks away. The day was great, and laughs were shared by all that were there.

With Habitat a success, NRG moved on to participate in the Central Florida Special Olympics on March 07th, 1998. NRG, along with LEAD Scholars, were on hand to join the thousands of volunteers, officials, and most importantly, the athletes themselves, at University High School in Orlando. NRG was proud to be the group who aided in the running of the torch, to open the games! From there, all eyes were on NRG as we manned stop watches, and were official timetakers for the track events. our work prompted one official to comment, "You guys are the best we've ever had! I don't remember it ever running so smoothly!" NRG Members also walked with athletes to the awards podium, to see they got their awards.
All in all, NRG had much to be proud of that day. Not only had they accomplished a great deal... but we shared many laughs, beat the heat, and had a wonderful time. We look forward to working with Special Olympics for years to come.
NRG is also involved in Earth day, right around the corner!
