Angie Knowlton, 2006
Angie Knowlton is a Grant Manager for the Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, part of Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Orlando Regional Healthcare.  I was hired during my last semester in the Master of Public Administration program at UCF.  I credit the experience I gained as a Graduate Research Assistant with the Public Administration Department for setting the course for my career.  As a Graduate Research Assistant, I initially worked with the Capacity Building Institute, where I provided small nonprofits performing HIV services with capacity building assistance.  It was through this experience that I became familiar with grant funding, as well as the continuum of HIV care in Central Florida.
As part of my current position, I now obtain more than $2.5 million in grant funding each year for the Help, Understand and Guide Me (HUG-Me) program, Central Florida’s largest non-governmental provider of comprehensive HIV care.
