Dr. Barbara A.Murray is Associate Professor of Educational Leadership specializing in personnel supervision,improving performance for effective schools, and the principal's role. She has served education as a classroom teacher, middle school, and high school principal, and school district superintendent. Dr. Murray earned her B.S. and M.A. degrees in Education from Ball State University, her Specialist Degree in Education from Indiana University, and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Educational Administration from Indiana State University. Before her appointment at the University of Central Florida, she served as a member of the governor's Indiana Task Force for Secondary Education and Vice President for the Joint Services for Special Education. Dr. Murray is Associate Editor of the Florida School Law Quarterly, which is published by the Florida Association of School Administrators. She has coauthored two books: The Survival Guide for the Florida Teacher and School Law for the Florida Educator. She has also authored three chapters in Supervision by Kosmoski and a monograph for beginning teachers in the Checklist Series published by the National Education Association. Dr. Murray has written for NASSP, AASA, NSBA, and ASCA.
