Sister Program: K-8 Mathematics and Science
- The K-8 Mathematics and Science program offers master's degree to practicing teachers in central Florida who have a minimum of three years teaching experience.
- The purposes of the K-8 program are to promote quality education (K-8) in mathematics, through a course of study focusing on critical inquiry and content updates.
- The K-8 program design is consistent with national curriculum, instruction, assessment and teacher preparation standards.
- The K-8 program is committed to the creation of a network of school-based leadership in mathematics and science education.
- From 1993-2003, the LMA graduated 324 Scholars. The graduates received a Master of Education inK-8 Mathematics and Science.

- The mission of the K-8 Mathematics and Science Education degree is to improve the quality of mathematics and science teaching and leadership in central Florida by providing leadership efforts to:
- Strengthen the quality of teaching and learning in mathematics and science
- Create a networks of school-based leadership in mathematics and science education
- Increase the number of students who enter high school and choose to enroll in mathematics and science courses that will prepare them for careers in mathematics, science and technology fields.
Leadership is an essential part of the K-8 program. The Scholars become a source of delivery of professional development for teachers in their respective schools.
