Leadership in the mathematics and science education community is one of the goals for graduates of the Lockheed Martin/UCF Academy of Mathematics and Science. Many LMA graduates have made us proud of their efforts and achievements in the area of leadership. Watch for this feature as we highlight the career achievements of our graduates. Anjani Mohabir is a 1996 graduate of LMA. She is a three-time winner at UCF. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UCF. Of course, the received her master’s from the LMA program, and she completed the Education Specialist’s degree at UCF, too. Presently. Mrs. Mohabir is seeking a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida. Throughout her eleven-year career in Seminole County Public Schools, Mrs. Mohabir has been a leader. She taught at English Estates Elementary, Carillon Elementary and Goldsboro Elementary. At Goldsboro, she was a mathematics and science specialist working with the children and teachers across the grades. For all her good work as a teacher and mentor, Mrs. Mohabir was recognized as the Seminole County Elementary School Mathematics Teacher of the Year. Presently, Mrs. Mohabir is Assistant Principal at Lawton Elementary School. Mrs. Mohabir has completed the certification requirements to be a National Board of Professional Teaching Standards nationally certified teacher. Also, she is a member of the Florida League of Teachers. She has accomplished all these wonderful goals while raising three children with her husband of twenty-five years.
