Thompsons Become International Archaeologists

October, 2004 - The Caribbean

Trekking through the humid Mexican jungle while swatting at mosquitoes, the Thompsons emerged through the brush to lay their eyes on a Mayan pyramid built thousands of years ago. The pyramid was one of several visited by Kelvin and Wendy at the Choccobean archaeological site an hour inland from Mexico's "Mayan Coast." Wendy and Kelvin and another couple arranged the excursion with a local transportation company and a local guide while their cruise ship was docked in the area. While both Thompsons enjoyed the excursion, Kelvin's interest continued a while longer than the 15 minutes it took for Wendy to have her fill of Mexican mosquitoes and jungle trekking.
