"Dad" Thompson Still A "Stud" September, 2000 - Winter Springs, FL Kelvin's father continued his longtime association with classic Studebaker automobiles as he served as Vice President of his local Studebaker club again this year. Kelvin and Wendy got a chance to see Derwood (Kelvin's father) in action as they attended a state-wide car show sponsored by the club (and judged by the very picky Derwood). "It was really something," said Kelvin, "seeing Dad and Steven (Steven Cade, the president of the club and family friend) running around looking like they knew what they were doing." Wendy was more focused on the quality of the mashed potatoes at the awards banquet than the "bunch of old cars" at the show. While Kelvin and Wendy enjoyed seeing all the Studebakers, they have no plans of purchasing one of their own. One "Stud" in the family is enough. Return to Halfbaked Headlines
