To Linda Amundsen, one of her most satisfactory paintings is Sea Grapes. It was selected as one of the top 200 paintings in the 1998 Arts for the Parks National Competition and Exhibition held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Her paintings are the result of careful observation and special attention to texture and small details. Her main concern when painting is to convey images that are appealing to the eye - images that can be touched with the eyes. Her artistic inclinations started early in life. Coming from a family where art was always present, it was not difficult for Amundsen to absorb and transform art into a vital part of herself. In the last 10 years, she has participated in outdoor shows and in various competitions both in Florida and nationally. Some of her works have been reproduced in lithographs, which can be found in galleries along Floridas west and east coasts.
Her eight-year-old granddaughter, Katherine, now continues the artistic tradition of Amundsens family. In Amundsens studio, they spend very special time together exploring the fascinating world of color, form and texture that is deeply rooted in both of them.
