Rose Madovers art has always been framed by her joyous attitude toward life. A loving mother and devoted wife, Madover demonstrated interest in art at a young age. Her sister, Estelle, with whom Madover was very close, was an artist and directly influenced her. But it was not until her retirement years that Madovers natural creativity fully bloomed. Her subject matter is broad. Anemones and Jug has particular significance because Madover made the jug depicted in the picture and grew the anemones in her garden.
For her family and for herself, this exhibition has enormous importance. Diagnosed with Alzheimers disease three years ago, Madover no longer paints. Painting and pottery brought a feeling of accomplishment and happiness to her life. She enjoyed giving her paintings to loved ones and seeing them displayed in their homes.
Madover now lives in a wonderful group home in the Orlando area. Her room in the home, her son, Howard, explains, is truly a "testament to her life." In it she displays her paintings, pottery and photographs of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family is proud of her many achievements as an artist, but they especially treasure the love and dedication she has given them throughout her entire life.
