What should I bring for my room? The most important rule of thumb is to be selective and bring only the essentials first. You will need to bring linens (pillows, pillowcases, flat twin size sheets for an 80" bed), blankets, towels, washcloths, mattress pad, alarm clock, toilet articles, wastebasket, and hangers. You may also bring a television and stereo, but remember to allow space in your room for the collectibles which you will accumulate rapidly. You should also bring a set of headphones so that you may enjoy your stereo without disturbing your roommate(s) or other students.
What shall I leave at home?In the interest of public safety, pest control, sanitation and general welfare, DO NOT PACK pets, bed lofts, waterbeds, firearms, explosives, or illegal drugs. These items will not be permitted in the halls. To minimize the danger of fire hazards, it is necessary to establish regulations regarding the use of certain electrical appliances in student rooms. Broiler ovens, heaters, hot plates and other "open element" appliances are serious fire hazards and, therefore, are NOT permitted in student rooms. Devices using an open flame, such as: candles, portable gas stoves, grills, fondue pots, gas burner hot plates, or gas lanterns are PROHIBITED in student rooms. Popcorn poppers, hot pots, coffee pots, and\or microwaves (must be 650 watts or less) are permitted.
May I cook in my room? No. However, you may have a microwave oven in your room for the purpose of preparing microwavable dishes. The microwave oven must use no more than 650 watts of power. Any other cooking appliances in student rooms are strictly prohibited.

Lake Claire Courtyard Apartments have a kitchen in each unit, which consists of a full range, a refrigerator freezer, and a dinette set. You are responsible for eating and cooking utensils.

Is there a telephone in my room ?When you arrive on campus there will not be a telephone in your room. Students will be responsible for providing their own touch tone phone. Touch tone telephones are necessary to gain access to computer registration, the Computer Center, etc. Telephone jacks will be provided to access the local telephone service. It is important for you to know that the telephone which you purchase must be a plain non-feature touch tone telephone. The telephone SHOULD NOT be a pulse dial instrument. Check with the retailer before you purchase a telephone to be sure that it is a TOUCH TONE telephone. The telephone line provided by the University provides local service only. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to contract for University- sponsored long distance service. Upon contracting with the service, you will be assigned a personal code which will identify long distance calls made by you so that you might be billed by the University-sponsored long distance service company for those calls. No deposits or other fees will be required. Collect calls CANNOT be accepted on room telephones and are subject to a $15.00 charge per call in addition to the amount of the call itself.

Lake Claire Courtyard Apartments have an active phone line in the living area as well as a phone jack in each bedroom. Students have the option to contract for individual phone lines in their bedrooms through UCF Telecommunications Department.

Will I have access to cablevision?Yes. Cost of cablevision is included in the rental rate.
Are refrigerators allowed in my room?Yes. However, it can have a storage capacity of NO MORE than 6 cubic feet.
May I have a wooden loft in my room? No. Lofts are NOT permitted in University residential facilities.
I have a bicycle, may I store it in my room? No. If you plan to bring a bicycle to campus, be prepared to leave it outside the residential facilities. Be sure to bring a lock and chain to secure the bicycle to the designated bicycle storage area. If you are concerned about your bicycle being exposed to the weather, you should seriously consider not bringing it to campus.
When does the meal plan start? Please call the Food Service at 407 823 2651 for information.
What is "visitation"?

  2. Students may, at their request, be assigned to a suite designed as a "non-visitation suite".

  4. Suite doors and living room window curtains may be closed. Authorized University personnel have the authority to enter the suite only for routine inventory, maintenance, health or safety inspection, or if there is reasonable cause to investigate emergencies.

  6. Maximum Hours of Visitation:
