The Legacy of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr
When I first heard of Dale Earnhardt Jr, my first thoughts were "oh this kid is going to use who his father is to gain attention. He's not a real driver." Now, I can officially say I was wrong. I have learned a lot about this man in the past couple of years. I thought it was a fluke that he won the 1998 Busch Series Championship, but then when he won the next year's championship, I began to notice that this man really did have talent. When he moved to Winston Cup in 2000, it was fun to see him and his father race together. After Dale Earnhardt's death on February 18, 2001, it was certain that Dale Earnhardt Jr was not just using his dad's name - - he is a true driver!
