Program Description

This program option will ensure educators the professional cultural competencies necessary to meet the educational needs of students from all cultural backgrounds. In addition to the core requirements, students will complete the following courses and an elevtive approved by the advisor:

  • EDF 6886 Multicultrual Education (3 hours)
  • EDF 6206 Challenges of Classroom Diveristy (3 hours)
  • EDF 6884 Education as a Cultural Process (3 hours)
  • EDF 6809 Introduction to Comparative and International Education (3 hours)

An elective selected from the following courses:

  • TSL 5345 Methods of ESOL Teaching (3 hours)
  • TSL 6142 Critical Approaches to ESOL (3 hours)
  • TSL 6440 Problems in Evaluation in ESOL (3 hours)
  • Other TSL courses with approval of advisor or another elective with advisor approval.
