Foreign Language Education at UCF

   David W. Gurney, Ph.D.

This page was created in order to share ideas with teachers in the field.
These ideas are the product of many years of language teaching, observations
of teachers and student teachers, workshops witnessed and conducted, etc.
There are various interesting ideas and materials for language educators to peruse.
Until recently, I maintained this page for the Foreign Language Education
program here at UCF.  On this page, there are materials related to language
acquisition and teaching.   Also, there are links to interesting sites on the Internet.

The program coordinator is, now, Dr. Karen Verkler kverkler@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu

In the future, I will concentrate on the examination of research on the brain and
memory functioning in order to develop insights about language acquisition and
suggest modifications in second language teaching techniques based on this study.

This page is under construction, but coming along!

This, plus TESOL, is my primary field of expertise.  Please tune in for updates on this page.

Please visit me, as well, at my personal home page.
On that page, I will concentrate on other things that I am interested in:
opera, poetry, photography, cooking, and, naturally, Gurney stuff.
