Financial Aid Academic Progress Requirements

- Complete the required hours by the end of the Spring term of each academic year. (Students on probation must meet standards each term.)
- Graduate within the time limit assigned by this policy.

Procedures for Appeals
Any student with extenuating circumstances (e.g. death of a relative of the student or an illness or injury of the student) who is placed on Financial Aid Cancellation may appeal to the Financial Aid Review Committee.
To appeal, the student must:
- Complete the Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Form. This form can be picked up at the Financial Assistance Office or downloaded from here.
- Attach documentation supporting your specific circumstance(s) to the appeal form.
- Submit your appeal and the supporting documentation to the Student Financial Assistance Office before the established deadline.
After a thorough evaluation of the written request and all supporting documentation, the Financial Aid Review Committee will notify the student of the decision in writing. Aid remains cancelled unless you receive a written notification of reinstatement.

Re-establishing Eligibility
This option is not available to students who have been cancelled for reaching their time limit or will reach their time limit by the end of the following term.
If there are no extenuating circumstances, students may re-establish eligibility for financial assistance if they:
- Enroll on their own (without financial aid) for at least 6 hours at UCF or any other accredited institution.
- Complete the required hours as they relate to attempted hours with a TERM GPA of at least 2.0.
In addition to the above requirements, students must be complying with all Satisfactory Academic Progress standards as stated by this policy.
- Complete the Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Form (at the end of the probationary term) based on a successful completion of one term and submit it to the Student Financial Assistance Office. If hours were earned at another institution, attach a copy of your grade transcript from the other institution showing the grades of that term.
- If students comply with ALL the above requirements, their financial assistance will be reinstated for the following term.
