Honors in the Major
- Honors in the Major (HIM) is designed to encourage the best junior and senior students to undertake original, independent work.
- HIM students design a thesis or project while working with a faculty mentor from the student's major program or department and two other faculty committee members. Students identify mentors and initiate the process.
- Honors in the Major is coordinated by a College of Education committee and Honors College.
Faculty Opportunities with Honors in the Major
- Mentorship of talented undergraduate students on an individual basis.
- Direction of scholarly work of promising students.
- Joint publication and/or presentation of original work.
- Collaboration with other Honors in the Major faculty across the university.
- Honorarium for thesis advisor.
