UCF College Democrats Past Events

College Democrats of America National Convention in Washington, D.C.

This summer, a group of College Democrats from UCF traveled to our Nation's Capitol to meet with other College Democrats from around the nation. We also had the rare opportunity to mingle with elected officials and important figures in the Democratic Party (including Senator Hillary Clinton and DNC Chairman Howard Dean). More pictures are on their way so keep checking back!

Adopt a Road Cleanup and Barbeque

Every first and third Saturday of the month College Democrats met in front of the Visual Arts Building to begin the Adopt-A-Road clean-up. Clean-ups were a fun way to show our dedication to the Democratic platform, help keep UCF clean, and have fun with friends!

Bush's Second Term State of the Union Address.

College Democrats got together for Bush's first State of the Union Address since the election. He spoke on the war in Iraq as well as his new social policies. College Democrats viewed this in order to further examine Bush's policies to see what he is doing that goes against the best wishes of our nation and the world. By examining his policies, we will be able to better fight policies that would be detrimental to our society.

Wesley Clark, Max Cleland, Pete Peterson Visit UCF

These trhee important figures in the democratic party came to UCF to share their views on President Bush and the war in Iraq as well as to express their support for John Kerry and Edwards in their fight for presidency.

Leonardo DiCaprio Visits UCF

Leonardo DiCaprio visited UCF with Carol Browner who was the EPA administrator during the Clinton era to support John Kerry and discuss President Bush's Environmental Policy.

John Edwards Rally

John Edwards came to Orlando to rally the democratic party and encourage people to vote in the 2004 election.

Kerry/Edwards Kids Visit UCF

The children of John Kerry and John Edwards held a special Town Hall Meeting at UCF in front of more than 200 students. Alexandra and Vanessa Kerry, Cate Edwards, and Chris Heinz appeared to talk about the Kerry/Edwards campaign and more.

Sheriff Candidate Rick Staly Visits

Sheriff candidate Rick Staly visits the UCF College Democrats to speak about why he's running for Orange County Sheriff.

John Kerry Speaks in Orlando
A day after becoming the unofficial nominee of the Democratic Party, John Kerry comes to Orlando to talk Homeland Security. Members of the UCF College Democrats joined Senators Nelson, Graham, and Kerry onstage for the event.

Donkeys Rock Tour
The Florida Democratic Party stopped at UCF on their Donkeys Rock bus tour. Students were treated to food and music at the UCF Student Union.
Florida Democratic Party Convention
The Florida Democratic Party's Convention saw nearly all of the Presidential candidates deliver speeches to a packed house. Howard Dean, Wesley Clark, Dennis Kucinich and Senate Candidate Peter Deutsch joined others in speaking to Young Democrats.
Senator John Edwards Visits Central Florida
Presidential Candidate John Edwards spoke to a crowd at the IUPAT Hall with members of the UCF College Democrats in attendance.
McBride Live on Ocean Drive (South Beach)
Members of the UCF College Democrats made the trip down to Miami to support Gubernatorial candidate Bill McBride and shake hands with President Bill Clinton.
Bill McBride Post-Debate Party at Knight Lights
After the Gubernatorial debate in the UCF Student Union, the UCF College Democrats joined candidate Bill McBride across the street at Knight Lights for a post-debate party.
Senator Bob Graham at UCF
One of Senator Bob Graham's famous workdays was to lecture in Dr. Joyce Lilie's Congress class. Graham took time to take pictures with the UCF College Democrats.
