The project will take place from Monday, February 27th to Friday, March 3rd.

    Format

The Memory Mall (lawn in between the Health and Public Affairs Building and Classroom One Building) will be set up to resemble a make-shift refugee camp. From the beginning of the project until the end, students will live outside in tents in the refugee camp, providing information to fellow students regarding the situation in Darfur twenty-four hours a day. Goals

The primary goal is to educate people (not just students) about the situation in Darfur. Considerable efforts will also be established to raise money to support non-governmental organizations that provide humanitarian support and/or education on Darfur.

    Scope

Similar events will take place on other college campuses in the state of Florida to coincide with Project: Darfur. Ideally, the state-wide project will garner national media attention and shed new light on Darfur. Being a state-wide event, there is considerable potential to raise a significant amount money for organizations that deal with the Darfur situation.

it doesn't have to mean genocide.
