October 29, 1995

Persons present: Paul Blais-VCC, Kay Delk-SCC, June Jones-CFCC, Pete Miniscalco-WCEU/DBCC, Lucy Morse-CFCHE, Rusty Okoniewski-CFCHE, Steve Sorg-CFCHE, Barbara Truman-CFCHE, Angela Williams-SCC

Jacques Dubois opened the meeting at 10:20 am.

Dubois said the committee was not in production because they needed funds to proceed. Steve Sorg said that the committee should use the same process to invoice the university for services. A new list of deliverables needs to be attached with expected d elivery dates. Sorg said that the Steering Committee had been requested to send letters to UCF stating the need for funding through the contracts for the community colleges. He expected the problem to be resolved shortly. Dubois said he would reconfigure a timetable and schedule by the following week.

Jones asked what the community colleges could do to help. Dubois said to get ready for production teams to come.

Dubois showed slides of screen captures of Brevard Community College's Web page. He suggested that all campuses in the Consortium should be connected with their pages through hypertext links. Dubois passed out the PBS Adult Learning Service Magazine ca lled Agenda (Fall/Winter 1995/96 issue). This magazine contains the templates for courses that Brevard will use for its distance learning courses.

Dubois explained that Brevard had decided to work with America On-Line(AOL) to set up the learner support for classes delivered. Students must sign up with America On-Line to receive credit for the course, but anyone can get to Brevard's page through t heir browser of choice. In the AOL environment, Brevard is charged per credit hour for providing services like shipping books, videotapes and dubbing services.

The next meeting will be December 13th in room 100 of the UCF Research Park at 10:00 am.
