Elaine Greenwood-SCC, Paul Blais-VCC, Marlene Fleischer-DBCC, Bill Patterson-CFCHE, Terry Longordo-L-SCC, Terry Furlow-L-SCC, Bobbi Lytle-SCC, Dennis Weeks-VCC-East, Steve Sorg-CFCHE, Barbara Truman-CFCHE

Lytle gave a tour of the campus computing facilities including lab using the Robitel hardware/software switching system and the combined use of a smart white board.

After the tour, Patterson distributed handouts. He described the article written by Barbara Martin, Pat Moskal and Neill Foshee as a summary of the faculty development needs assessment efforts. He asked members to turn in comments and ideas when they have reviewed the summary in detail.

Next Patterson reviewed the printed Powerpoint that told of the objectives of the group. The next item was the FTP which he asked be turned in at the final meeting. Patterson also asked members to consider technology at their campuses. He asked members to collect and if necessary, write up the vision for technology from member campuses and each IT's interpretation of these visions. Blais said at VCC, vision was very limited due to limited dollars. Patterson said he would like to see each IT's personal assessment.

Members passed in their deliverables to date.

Patterson asked members to find out who will be teaching the technology course and what text/tools will be used. He encouraged members to share materials to benefit all. Fleischer suggested bringing publications at next meeting.

Sorg commented that the Consortium originally had a math committee that collaborated to design prerequisite courses. He said this mandated state course offers the same opportunities for collaboration.

Patterson spoke of his meeting at Brevard Community College with Max King and Dana Davis of Time Warner Cable. He discussed the benefits of the cable modems which are 300 times faster than a 28.8 modem. Patterson also distributed the handout from the Christian Science Monitor.

The next meeting will be Friday, June 15th at Time Warner Cable. The meeting adjourned at 2:45 pm.
