Attendees for the telephone bridge: Patricia Rausch-LSCC, Rosemary Layne-BCC, Paul Blais-VCC, Cheryl Fonte-CFCC, Jim McBrayer-UCF, Vern Allen-CFCC, Lucy Morse-CFCHE, Barbara Truman-CFCHE, Pat Moskal-IST, Neill Foshee-IST, Barbara Martin-UCF
Committee members attempted to get on the phone bridge and had difficulty getting through. Some members used speaker phone at their locations. The UCF operator interrupted and explained the technical problem. Some business was discussed and another meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, April 16th at 3:15 pm.
Members discussed workshops II and III scheduled for next Thursday April 9th at 2:30 pm. It was suggested that the 3rd week at CFCC would be suitable for a repeat of workshop II. It was noted that teachers don't teach on Fridays at Seminole, which may make them good days for scheduling.
Rosemary Layne from Brevard suggested that at workshop III attendees could use their experience to show their interactive skills. Perhaps some faculty could bring their already prepared instructional segments. It was thought that about 20 people would attend the workshop. Moskal said there would be one person called upon from each site. Another option is to do some specific skills. Pat, Neill and Barbara will design some instructional skills. Use of the Chromakey and questioning techniques were suggested.
Workshop III will be tentatively scheduled for the third week of May.
The issue of faculty rewards was raised again. What rewards are teachers going to get for using distance? What incentives? Morse--Suggested putting ideas on the list for the next year's continued work of the committee. It would be helpful to give to administrators and to share ideas as soon as possible.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 16th at 3:15pm.
