Demonstration Project
Instructional technologists will provide faculty workshops and individual instruction sessions in the actual use of, (versus simply knowledge of), distance education and instructional enhancement tools. Working in concert with the specific and general nee ds of each campus, instructional technologists will deliver appropriate instruction to support existing campus faculty educational technology initiatives as well as new interests generated as the result of faculty development workshops and participation i n survey coursework.
ACTION STEPS
The following action steps will be taken to reach the objective:
Assessment of the specific and general instructional enhancement and distance education training priorities for each participating institution as gleened from the completed faculty development needs assessment, and through the personal awareness developed by each resident campus instructional technologist.
Development of appropriate workshops and individual training sessions. Training will be designed and delivered in a revolving manner, considering the strengths of each individual instructional technologist and participating campus and sharing same among CFCHE member institutions.
Development of personal technology profiles for interested faculty members detailing a comprehensive plan for their successful, ongoing integration of appropriate instructional enhancement and distance education tools and techniques into their teaching pr actices
Implementation of workshops and individual training sessions.
Documentation of individual faculty instructional enhancement and distance education progress using personal profiles.
Coordination with survey course and faculty development initiatives.
DELIVERABLES
Technology training priority assessments, (per action step "1", above) Campus technology initiatives, directions, and priorities profiles. Personal technology profiles. Workshop and tutorial materials Personal recommendations from each resident campus I.T., for future individual campus and Consortium instructional enhancement and distance education development directions and priorities including new training, hardware, software and staffing initiatives and specific CFCHE-DLDP objectives, action steps and proposed follow-up schedules.
SCHEDULE
Meet with each campus Instructional Technologist by September 30.
Meet with all Instructional Technologists by October 10.
Workshop launch date - all campuses November 1
Deliverables/measurable outcomes will be collated by June 15, 1996.
