IntroductionDr. Carter is currently an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Central Florida in Daytona Beach, Florida. He received his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in 2003. He currently teaches introduction to sociology, cultural and racial minorities, research methods, social psychology, and data analysis. His research interests encompass several areas, including, but not limited to, racial and gender attitudes, attitudinal construction and measurement, racial inequality, urban and Southern subcultures, and marriage and the family. He has published in several journals, including the Annual Review of Sociology, Social Science Research, and Psychological Reports. Dr. Carter has also presented his research at several professional conferences, including those sponsored by the American Sociological Association and the Southern Sociological Society. He is currently studying measurement issues in assessing racial attitudes as well as consequences of Southern subcultures. For more information, please see Dr. Carter's vita - Link
