Testing the Teacher

Scoring the Test

The Mathematics section of the CBEST test is composed entirely of multiple-choice questions. The raw score is calculated by adding the number of questions answered correctly, with no penalty for incorrect answers.

A passing score on the full Math Test is answering approximately 70 percent of the questions correctly. For the 20 question sample test you must answer 14 questions correctly in order to "pass."
